Our historic pub was originally built in the 14th century, and re-built in its current form in 1874 after a fire destroyed the building.

The Springer Spaniel is a dog and child friendly establishment, and we warmly welcome families and their four legged friends, we just ask that they’re accompanied by well behaved owners and parents.
We’re fortunate to have a large car park, garden and undercover patio area with plenty of seating, perfect for enjoying those long, hot Devon summer evenings. Alongside our raised planters, we also have a fenced and gated garden area to help keep both dogs and children safe and happy.
Behind the bar, you’ll find a carefully selected range of wines, spirits, beers, alongside local and West Country ciders and ales.
The Springer Spaniel also has its own mascot, Cara, our performing spaniel, who learnt her skills from Sadie, who we are sure many of you will remember. Cara delights guests young and old with her famous bar mat catching trick.
